I don't know why, but I don't like people. I don't mean that I don't like persons, that's entirely different, it's the whole group thing that I'm not down with. Well, if it's a crowd of persons then it's alright, it's when there's all these people that I don't know...gives me the heebie jeebies or something... Jumpstart week is the worst because all these strange little freshmen come and invade the campus. It'll take some getting used to.

The World is Crazy
Mort: King Julien, what are they? WHAT ARE THEY?!
King Julien: They are aliens...savage aliens from the savage future...
Maurice: They've come to kill us...and take our women...and our precious metals!...
Mort: Waahaahaahaahaa... [crying]
King Julien: Get up Mort. Do not be near the king's feet. Okay?
Maurice: Shhhh...
King Julien: Shh! We're hiding; be quiet everyone, including me. Shh, who's making that noise?...Oh, it's me again...
...
Mort: They are savages! ...do not let me die!
King Julien: THE FEET! I told you...I told you bec_...I told every_... Didn't I tell him about the feet?!
Maurice: He did tell you about the feet?...
Mort: Ah huh
King Julien: Wait, I have a plan!
Maurice: Really?...
King Julien: ...I have devised a cunning test...to see whether these are savage killers...
...
Mort: No! Waooo!...
Ah, I love Madagascar, it's such a great movie. I also appreciate the Joseph-Conrad-esque undertones. People can be such savages; just look at the news...in them lies a heart of darkness... That part, I guess, saddens me. Though, some do at times find redemption...

Don't Drive and Sleep
I was so tired when I got back this morning. It was almost 4AM when I parked, I was so tired I fell asleep in my car before I could go up to my apartment. Managed to wake up enough to go to bed once I started getting cold. Yes, and now I'm sick... can't talk at all--no voice. I think I'll go to work in the afternoon, I don't really need to talk for my job, thankfully. ...I am soo tired... But I'd do it again, that's what friends are for-- to be there for you when you need them--right?

Looong Weeekend
What a long weekend!... I only drove about 1600 miles or so... and gas is so expensive.
Rosario was really cool. Michael and Marcy's wedding was really nice. I helped out a little bit with random things. Very nice; ceremony was on the beach, reception was in Lindgren Hall. Charity and I went swimming between the ceremony and the reception and it was pretty cold. I'd never gone swimming in the pacific before, though I'd been tidepooling a couple times before; really salty!
So, after Rosario, I drove back to WW and then played paintball on Monday morning and then drove up to Kelowna in the afternoon/evening. Then this morning (Tuesday), I headed back down from Kelowna. Incidentally, if you're Canadian and you own a vehicle registered in the states, they have to do some extra paperwork. Something about importing a vehicle, or making sure you aren't importing it, or whatever... so that's an extra 5-10 minute stop both ways... oh well, it wasn't too bad.
Yeah... so it's definitely been a long weekend

A Post Three Many
Perhaps an inordinate number of posts for one day?... Anyway, it just struck me (again) that I really don't keep up with what's going on in the world; I don't watch TV, I don't listen to the radio, I don't read the paper, I don't even check online... To some extent I feel like maybe I ought to know what events are transpiring "outside" but on the other hand I really don't care that much. Most stuff doesn't end up affecting me and I can't do anything about most of the stuff that happens. Life hands out problems indiscriminately, chances are that I'll have enough things to worry about without worrying about something half-way around the world...
Then again, it's not a bad idea to be informed...maybe I should watch TV? hahaha, not likely!

Seattle
Plan to leave for Seattle at 14:00 on Friday. plan to leave... maybe it'll be 14:15?
At random, I began to wonder how I can get the rest of the episodes of Canada: A People's History... I only have up to episode 17, though I haven't watched them all yet, and I know there's more... hmmmm... oh well, I'll burn that bridge when I get to it.

Roller Hockey
No roller hockey last night. That was sad. How am I going to get my roller hockey fix?...
In other news, looks like Nzwi got some luggage, guess he'll be moving out soon. Just when I was contemplating if it would be worth it to domesticate him, perhaps demonstrate the use of a broom, vacuum, and mop... ah, maybe too much sarcasm. I can understand the whole laziness thing, but it just irks me since I have to put up with such slothfullness... maybe it's life's payback for the times I slacked off... oh well...
I'm trying to decide what time to leave tomorrow. I'm planning on heading to Rosario for Michael and Marci's wedding. Then I'll drive back in time for some paintball on Monday, and maybe a few hours of work
